Rose Gertrude Jeckyll – this is one of the more popular roses in the David Austin collection. It starts blooming early and will repeat. The flowers start bright pink and lighten a little as they age. The beautiful strong fragrance is described as being the quintessential old rose scent. Grows vigorously with an upright habit to about 4-6′ tall and 3-4′ wide.
Davis Austin Roses – are old fashioned roses that originated in England from world famous rose Breeder David Austin. Chris Kennedy once received a surprise phone call from the late rose breeder himself, thanking the Kennedy family for carrying his roses. David Austin’s roses are known for having long stems, pretty flowers containing many, many petals and great fragrance. They are considered by many to be the best roses for cutting and arranging in a vase so you have more time admire their beauty up close and take in their fragrance. An investment in David Austin rose bushes pays you back many times over. Our experience is David Austin roses might be a little more work and they may not be as abundant compared to low maintenance, non-stop flowering landscape shrub roses. Although some of the newer varieties are more disease resistant.
Care: All Roses need full sun for best flower production. Less sun will decrease flowers and increase chances for disease problems. Click here to read our Rose blog for more information.
