Rose Carding Mill – The blooms are a beautiful blend of pink, apricot and yellow, giving the overall impression of orange. They have a lovely medium myrrh fragrance. It forms a bushy, rounded shrub with quite straight stems. Grows 3-5′ tall and 3-4′ wide. Very cold hardy to zone 5.
Origin of Name – Carding Mill is an extremely beautiful valley in the Long Mynd just to the west of the David Austin nursery in Shropshire, England
Davis Austin Roses – are old fashioned roses that originated in England from world famous rose Breeder David Austin. Chris Kennedy once received a surprise phone call from the late rose breeder himself, thanking the Kennedy family for carrying his roses. David Austin’s roses are known for having long stems, pretty flowers containing many, many petals and great fragrance. They are considered by many to be the best roses for cutting and arranging in a vase so you have more time admire their beauty up close and take in their fragrance. An investment in David Austin rose bushes pays you back many times over. Our experience is David Austin roses might be a little more work and they may not be as abundant compared to low maintenance, non-stop flowering landscape shrub roses. Although some of the newer varieties are more disease resistant.
