Garden tips & tricks. One of my favorite combos is planting early spring blooming plants like daffodils in between later blooming perennials such as this Blue Star Amsonia. Both are sun loving, care free and drought tolerant. My daughter and I planted these potted bulbs in the spring a few years back in between the perennials along our walkway at home. This combo blooms for weeks & weeks. This particular perennial I chose grows high enough to hide the tired foliage of the daffs and continues to have great looking foliage after it blooms and well into the fall. In winter it is all trimmed back and nice and clean and no worries about shoveling snow and damaging plants like I had to worry about previously with my row of boxwoods. Steal this idea. We have several potted daffs in stock now while supplies last. Several are highly fragrant!! The first two loads of perennials arrive next week to commence the planting season!
