Basil Questions. Basil Answer. What makes basil th Basil Questions. Basil Answer. What makes basil thrive - heat! It’s finally warm enough to safely plant basil. Why does Basil not survive? Two reasons both easily avoidable. 1. Buy Basil that is Downey Mildew resistant. Most people don’t know that most basil gets a disease that significantly shortens it’s life. If we don’t have anything nice to say about pots of basil sold at hardware stores & grocery stores then we won’t say anything at all. 2. Don’t over water basil. It easily rots. Give it all day sun and let it go dry to the touch before watering. Enjoy your Amazel Basil - it’s mildew resistant!! #amazelbasil #provenwinners #gardenanswer
