Nursery Guarantee for Hardy Trees and Shrubs

Kennedy’s confidence in our nursery stock is backed by a one year guarantee on full-price hardy trees and shrubs.  If you are a member of our Kennedy’s Garden Rewards Club, this guarantee is valid for two years.  Kennedy’s agrees to furnish true to name nursery plants in top quality condition and to re-supply ONCE, at no charge to the customer, and at no more than the original purchase value, any hardy to Zone 6 tree, shrub, or evergreen that fails to survive through the 12 months (24 months for rewards program members) from the date of purchase, provided that proper planting, watering, maintenance, and weather protection procedures are followed.  Proper care is the sole responsibility of the customer.  Please let us know of any concerns you may have about your plant as soon as you see any indication of a problem.  Our guarantee will be nullified if we are not given an opportunity to suggest corrective measures in a timely fashion.

Planting and Maintenance Instructions and Guarantee Information for Nursery Purchases

 

Excluded from our guarantee are trees and shrubs that are not hardy to Zone 6 (including camellias, crepe myrtles, evergreen magnolias, and citrus trees), annuals, tropicals, perennials, grasses, roses, and ground covers.  Also excluded are plants not planted in the ground, plants damaged by mechanical damage, plants lost to abnormal weather conditions or flooding, plants subjected to over-watering, under-watering, or insufficient care, and plants where signs of insect damage or disease were ignored.  Additional circumstances beyond our control may void this guarantee.  Accounts not paid within 48 hours of completion will nullify this guarantee.

Replacement labor is included if the plant was installed by a Kennedy’s installer and paid for on a Kennedy’s receipt.  If labor was paid directly to an installer, you will need to arrange the replacement labor directly with that installer.

Other Plants

Kennedy’s does not replace plants that do not fall under our tree and shrub guarantee.  However, please make us aware right away of any issues you have with plants purchased at Kennedy’s.  It is always best to bring a problem plant back to Kennedy’s as soon as possible accompanied by your sales receipt.  The next best thing is to take photographs to show to one of our experts.  We can make no promise about a replacement or credit, but we will do our best to help you resolve any problem so that it does not happen in the future.

Non-Plant Return Policy

We allow money back returns on most non-plant items within 30 days of purchase when accompanied by an original Kennedy’s sales receipt.  Items eligible for return must be in their original salable condition.  We do not accept returns on custom orders or other items that were made or cut to order such as ribbon & bows, burlap, weed fabric, water garden liner, etc.  Open boxed items (such as pond pumps) can be returned if they are in the same salable unused condition, but they are subject to a 10% re-stocking fee.
